Sky Sports pundit reacts as Leeds United medical scheduled for Kristensen arrival
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...
Paul Robinson is delighted to see Leeds United making a quickfire move to solve their issues at right-back with Red Bull Salzburg’s Rasmus Kristensen reportedly on his way to Elland Road.
The Athletic journalist Phil Hay reported on The Athletic’s website on Tuesday morning (7 June) that a deal to sign the 24-year-old Denmark right-back “is well on the way to being finalised“.
It is understood that Leeds are hopeful of Kristensen completing a medical with them this week after terms were agreed.

Leeds are set to start the 2022/23 season with Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas, with Ayling out until the autumn after undergoing surgery and Dallas likely to miss the rest of the year with a fractured femur.
Robinson can’t say that he’s an expert on Kristensen but he just hopes the ex-Ajax right-back is good enough to slot straight into Jesse Marsch’s starting line-up.
“I just think the squad itself needs strengthening everywhere,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News when asked for his thoughts on the imminent deal for Kristensen.
“Luke spent a lot of time this season playing at centre-half, which I suspect he probably will do again next season at times when he’s back fit.
“Leeds need cover in that area with Dallas out as well and there’s been no kind of return date put on when he’s going to be back.
“With Ayling and Dallas both out then it’s important they do sign a specialist right-back.
“I’ve not seen much of Kristensen. I’ve seen little bits of him this season but they need to sign players who are ready to put into the starting 11, especially at right-back.”

Leeds have already raided Salzburg since the end of the 2021/22 season by signing attacking midfielder Brenden Aaronson.
Kristensen, who played for Marsch in his spell in Austria, now looks set to join USA star Aaronson in West Yorkshire ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
In other Leeds United news, Andrea Radrizzani has basically confirmed that the Whites are set to seal a new signing.
