Brenden Aaronson under 'huge pressure' at Leeds United after what Sky Sports pundit saw

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...

Paul Robinson was delighted with what he saw from Brenden Aaronson when he played a blinder for Leeds United in their win over Cagliari on Sunday.

Aaronson, 21, was in great form as he assisted three goals for the Whites in their 6-2 victory at Elland Road.

The USA international arrived as Jesse Marsch’s first signing at Elland Road from Red Bull Salzburg in May, costing the Yorkshire giants £24.7million.

While Robinson was impressed by the attacking midfielder’s performance against Cagliari, he wants to see the American continue his form once the Premier League season starts this weekend with a trip to Wolves.

“There’s huge pressure on his shoulders,” said Robinson to MOT Leeds News.

The new lads who’ve come in have to hit the ground running – it’s as simple as that.

They’ve got no time to bed in other than pre-season.

I thought his performance [against Cagliari] was excellent.

I’d been sceptical about the new signings and the lack of experience they’ve got and the loss of the two players (Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips) they’ve let go.

But from Aaronson’s point of view on Sunday, it was a very promising start.

Yes, you can question the opposition but it was a good confidence booster and a good game to get under their belts before the start of the season.”

Aaronson was joined by Marc Roca, Tyler Adams and Rasmus Kristensen in making their first Elland Road appearances since signing for the Whites this summer.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to sign this “phenomenal” former Premier League player who could be keen on a move to Elland Road.
