Watford star Ismaila Sarr tempted by Leeds United amid £29.3m development
Ismaila Sarr could be tempted to quit Watford amid interest from Leeds United, according to Foot Mercato.
The French news outlet reported on Tuesday (2 August) that Sarr, 24, is valued at £29.3million by Watford as Leeds hunt down a replacement for Raphinha, who left Elland Road for Barcelona earlier this summer.
It is understood that the Whites have a shortlist of Raphinha replacements and Sarr is among them with the Senegal international potentially interested in a move to West Yorkshire.
Go get him
Although he’d be an expensive signing, Sarr would be a very good addition to Jesse Marsch’s attack.
Leeds are already said to have replaced Raphinha by signing Luis Sinisterra from Feyenoord but the Colombia international is a left-winger whereas Sarr spent most of last season on Watford’s right-wing.

Despite the Hornets’ relegation, the ex-Rennes attacker scored five goals and supplied two assists in 22 Premier League appearances last season, which is decent considering the amount of game-time he had.
He can play up front too and Leeds definitely need to add to their strikeforce. If they don’t, they won’t have learned from the Patrick Bamford issues of last season.
Sarr was described by ex-Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster as “frightening” and “phenomenal” on the Premier League’s YouTube channel back in September – and we agree.
If we can sign him for less than £30million, that would be a great deal and it would kill two birds with one stone for Vitor Orta and Marsch.
However, we’re not going to get our hopes up until a British-based source like Phil Hay says there’s an interest.
