Pundit reacts instantly as Leeds United confirm Luis Sinisterra transfer

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...

Paul Robinson has shared his instant thoughts on Luis Sinisterra’s arrival at Elland Road after it was confirmed on 7 July that he’s joined Leeds United.

Leeds confirmed the 23-year-old’s arrival from Feyenoord via their official website, adding that he’s signed a five-year deal after an undisclosed fee was agreed.

He’s Leeds’ sixth signing of the summer and Robinson, who’s worked as a pundit for Eredivisie matches, believes Sinisterra is the best of the bunch.

Speaking to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “He’s a good player.

I saw bits of him last year covering the Eredivisie for a broadcaster and he’s a good player with great potential.

It looks like he’s coming in as a replacement for Raphinha should that Barcelona move happen.

But, if for whatever reason Raphinha’s move doesn’t go through and he ends up staying the squad alongside him, it’ll be fantastic to have them both in the same side.

He’s a young and exciting talent and for me, he’s the best signing Leeds have made this summer.

He’s a player in a similar ilk to Raphinha and gives them that forward impetus.

You still want them to sign a forward as a replacement or back-up for Patrick Bamford because he’s clearly not going to play a full season after last year.

It would be exciting if he stayed and played with Raphinha but I think that’s opened the door for him to go.”

Sinisterra, who has been capped five times by Colombia, scored 23 goals and supplied 14 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions for Feyenoord last season.

While he’s being touted as a replacement for Raphinha, the new Leeds man is predominantly a left-sided winger.

He can, however, play on the right or as a striker.
