PSR deadline update on Archie Gray sale at Leeds United after legal developments

Dan Plumley has insisted that Leeds United should be able to use the sale of Archie Gray in their latest accounts after the June 30 deadline passed.

The £40million sale was officially announced on July 2 but should be fine to use for PSR calculations at Elland Road after the quick saga ended [Graham Smyth].

The football finance expert shared his legal verdict, admitting that if the deal was agreed by the deadline and approved by the Premier League, it is fine to use.

“We’ve seen a lot of clubs do it this year,” he exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

“As long as the deal has been legally agreed by the deadline, then it’s okay, is the official line on it.

There will be a couple of days where things tend to get announced later than that deadline but as long as the deal is in place and the Premier League has approved that deal by the legal deadline then it’s fine.

You get the feeling that with a lot of these transfer stories that we are seeing in regards to this, the deal has been done already and we’re getting the back end of the announcement.

It looks okay and plenty of clubs have been doing it and we know the reasons why, but as long as it has been agreed by the 30 June deadline then it shouldn’t be an issue.”

PSR deadline hit by Leeds United and Archie Gray

After the earlier sales of Luis Sinisterra and Tyler Adams, the “Mega” Red Bull deal joined by Gray leaving should make the next accounts look relatively healthy [Adam Pope].

With the failure of last season and the unpaid transfer fees that were made very clear, all of the above should hopefully have the Whites and the 49ers Enterprises on more steady ground moving forward.
