Paul Robinson wants Leeds United to sign both Lewis O’Brien and Josh Brownhill

Leeds United could sign both Burnley’s Josh Brownhill and Huddersfield’s Lewis O’Brien to strengthen their midfield, according to Paul Robinson.

Earlier this week, TeamTalk reported that Leeds had approached Burnley with an enquiry about 25-year-old Brownhill, who’s valued at £15million.

Marcelo Bielsa is said to be a massive fan of the former Bristol City central midfielder, who completed 90 minutes for Burnley on Saturday as they lost 2-0 to Liverpool at Anfield.

Of course, he’s not the only central midfielder linked with a move to Elland Road before the transfer window closes as Huddersfield’s O’Brien, 22, is also a target for the Whites.

According to the Sunday Mirror [August 22, page 64], Leeds are also locked in talks to sign the £8million-rated Terriers ace.

Robinson feels that as neither player is valued too highly, they could both be affordable for Leeds.

“They both could potentially come in,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News when asked if Leeds should sign Brownhill instead of Huddersfield’s O’Brien.

“They’re not huge money deals. Obviously the one for Brownhill would cost more but he would be an addition to the squad who would come straight into the starting line-up.

“There’s room for Brownhill and O’Brien in the squad and they are two deals that could happen.

“We know Burnley sell for the right price and if Leeds do come in with an offer that’s deemed acceptable then that’s one that could happen.

“There’s room for both.”

O’Brien has played three times for Huddersfield this season, playing all 90 minutes of their 2-1 win at Sheffield United on Saturday.

Brownhill was a late substitute for Burnley in their loss to Brighton in their Premier League opener but was handed a start at Liverpool this weekend.
