Paul Robinson thrilled by Dan James after first Leeds goal v Spurs
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...
Paul Robinson was left thrilled by Leeds United winger Dan James despite the 2-1 defeat against Spurs on Sunday afternoon.
The Welsh international scored his first goal for the club, tapping home after brilliant work from Jack Harrison out wide.
Robinson insisted that James took it upon himself to lead the charge in the final third with numerous attacking stars out injured.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said, “Definitely the best game we’ve seen of him.
“He’s been improving every week, we saw some end product this week as well – something he’s been criticised for. Bielsa is going to take time to work with him and turn him into the player he wants.
“We’re starting to see some end product, when I saw the teamsheet I feared for Leeds with no Raphinha, no Rodrigo, no Bamford.
“Dan James took it upon himself to lead the line behind Gelhardt and he did really well.”
This is nothing short than James has deserved in recent weeks as he continues to improve with every single performance.
Marcelo Bielsa relied upon the Welshman heavily on Sunday to push forward, and he was our main threat for the entire 90 minutes.
Having played in numerous positions already since arriving in the summer, the winger is starting to prove his worth with each match.
This goal should hopefully push him into a new stage of his career at Elland Road, and he can start regularly finding the back of the net.
