Paul Robinson reacts as Leeds United linked with signing Reading star John Swift
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...
Paul Robinson has insisted that Leeds United need to sign players who will make an instant impact in the January window.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, the former Whites stopper believes that Victor Orta needs to bring in options who can jump straight into the starting XI.
Reading playmaker John Swift has been linked with a move to Elland Road, but his agent shred that no concrete move has yet been made.

The Star have reported that the Whites are plotting a bid to win the heated race to sign Swift as early as January.
Speaking to MOT Leeds News about the links and potential bid on the table, Robinson insisted that his old club need proven players.
“They need proven players,” the ex-Whites keeper said.
“In the Premier League, it’s a very different calibre of player that you need, in January, you need them who will hit the ground running.
“You don’t need players that will be in your starting XI in the next six to 12 months, the form Leeds are in and the injuries they’ve had, they need to sign players who will have an immediate impact on the squad.”

Not good enough?
Swift has been on fire this season in the Championship.
The former Chelsea man has scored eight goals and delivered nine assists already in his 20 appearances this season.
Would he get into the Leeds side though? Given the big-money spent on Rodrigo, that spot appears to be have been taken and made his own despite being on the bench against Palace.
That then opens up the spot in the middle of the park, but given Adam Forshaw’s resurgence and Stuart Dallas to move forward once Luke Ayling recovers, who knows?
Swift may be the perfect summer signing, and he could come in for free given his contract is coming to an end next year.
For January, though, Bielsa needs instant impact and could a bigger name do the job better? It’s likely.
