We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United
Paul Robinson has said that Ryan Kent “will be on the list” for Leeds this summer as they look to strengthen the squad again.
Leeds had a bid rejected for Kent last summer but Robinson thinks that after the season that he’s had – scoring 11 goals and adding 13 assists as Rangers won the Premiership – Leeds will go back in for him.
He also thinks they will face competition from a number of other Premier League sides.
Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News Robinson said, “I’m surprised that they’re talking about moving Helder Costa on but if they do then Ryan Kent will be on the list.
“He is a top player and he’s had a great season with Rangers, as they’ve won the Premiership.
“It’s a good time for him. I think there will be a number of Premier League teams looking at him in addition to Leeds.
“But, if you like a player, you don’t suddenly become disinterested in him because you didn’t sign him. Especially after the season that he’s had for Rangers.
“Ryan Kent will be on the list.”
Do we think that Kent is an upgrade on Helder Costa?
Absolutely and the 24-year-old can play up-front as well as out on the wings.
That versatility, that will give Bielsa the option of playing him as a Bamford back-up, could be what tips them into making another official bid.
We think that Leeds could land him for around £20m and that would be a solid signing.
