Paul Robinson: Leeds United harmony is better than it has been for 20 years

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…

Paul Robinson has hailed the behind-the-scenes harmony at Elland Road after Leeds United director of football waxed lyrical about Marcelo Bielsa.

Speaking on The Phil Hay Show last week, Orta paid tribute to the Leeds boss for how clever he is and even suggesting that if he worked in medicine, he could improve the situation surrounding cancer.

Robinson believes the feel-good factor at Leeds resonates from the very top with owner Andrea Radrizzani, who has overseen a dramatic change of the landscape in West Yorkshire.

“You can see the harmony that’s behind the scenes at the club,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News.

“For the first time in a long time, Leeds United have got stability, they’ve got people who love and care about the club and make the right decisions for the club.

“The signings have been very good, you only have to look at the likes of Raphinha and [Illan] Meslier, for example. The scouting network that brought them in is sound.

“I think behind the scenes at Leeds, it’s a harmonious place and it hasn’t been over the last 10, 15 or 20 years. The club is in a better state now than it has been in the last 20 years. It wasn’t as good in the Premier League as it is now and you have to give Radrizzani a lot of credit for it.

“So many owners have come in before and promised this, that and the other – ‘we’ll do this with the ground, that with the training ground’. It was never done but Radrizzani bought the ground straight away, he’s redeveloped it behind the scenes.

“Yes, it’s an old and dated ground but behind the scenes, in the bones of it, it’s Premier League ground.”

When Radrizzani took Leeds over, they were a club that was in continual crisis with absolutely no hope of breaking out of their Championship nightmare.

However, the sleeping giant has been awoken by the ambitious Italian businessman, who pushed the boat out to win over the fans by buying back Elland Road, hiring Bielsa as manager and funding a £100million improvement of the squad last summer after promotion to the Premier League.

Is there a more harmonious club in England or even the world than Leeds United right now?

We don’t think there is.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to sign this 35-cap international more than any other club this summer.
