Paul Robinson: I’d love to see Leeds United sign Wolves star Adama Traore
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson would love to see Leeds United sign winger Adama Traore from Wolves before the end of the transfer window.
Times journalist Duncan Castles reported in late July that Leeds had made a £30million bid for the 25-year-old Spain international, who played for Middlesbrough earlier in his career when Victor Orta was there.
TalkSPORT journalist Alex Crook added that no bid had actually been made from Leeds for Traore but the ex-Aston Villa and Barcelona player remains someone who’s continually linked with a move to Elland Road.

Ex-Leeds goalkeeper Robinson would like to see a move happen for Traore, who’s reportedly valued at £45million by Wolves [Daily Mail].
Speaking to MOT Leeds News, he said: “That’s good money. He’s a good player, I rate him.
“He’s not the finished article yet but he’s a lot more polished than when he left Middlesbrough. He was a bit rough around the edges, his final ball wasn’t there and it was just his raw pace and power.
“Now, he’s combined that with intelligence and delivery of the ball final with goals.
“He’s a player that I’ve admired for the last couple of seasons because he’s really come on. I’d love to see him at Leeds.”

Last season, Traore scored two goals and supplied three assists in 37 Premier League appearances for Wolves as they finished the season in the bottom half of the table.
In total, the Spaniard has played 140 times in the Premier League but has only been directly involved in 23 goals – seven goals and 16 assists.
For all the pace and power that Traore has shown at Molineux, he’s hardly someone who’s consistently been among the goals and we feel Marcelo Bielsa may want someone a bit more reliable in that area if he was to make a late summer swoop for a new winger.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have made an approach to sign this English forward whose value is soaring.
