Blackburn will refuse to sell Ben Brereton Diaz to Leeds United in January – pundit view
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...
Paul Robinson fails to see how Blackburn would agree to sell Ben Brereton Diaz to Leeds United in the January transfer window.
Speaking on talkSPORT on 15 December, Jim White and Alex Crook reported that the 22-year-old striker is wanted by Leeds ahead of the January transfer window.
Brereton Diaz has been in incredible goalscoring form this season to help propel Blackburn up to fourth place in the Championship.

And as it seems as though Rovers have their best chance of winning promotion back to the Premier League in a decade, Robinson feels that getting rid of Brereton Diaz in January would be nonsensical.
Speaking to MOT Leeds News, the ex-Leeds and Blackburn goalkeeper said: “I think Brereton Diaz’s record this season has been fantastic.
“Blackburn needed a player to fill the big void left by Adam Armstrong and I can’t see how that deal would happen in January.
“With where Blackburn are in the league now, it’s the best chance they have of getting promoted to the Premier League since I was relegated with the club. They’d be silly to sell him when you look at where they are.
“They’re fourth now so I can’t see how that deal for Leeds can happen when Blackburn are so close in challenging for the top-two places or a play-off place.
“The deal just doesn’t make sense from Blackburn’s point of view.
“That player’s value is not going to go down between now and the end of the season. He’s only going to stay the same in value or it increases.”

Brereton Diaz has scored 17 goals in his 22 Championship appearances for Blackburn this season.
He also got a call-up to the Chile squad for the first time in the summer and has since scored three times in nine appearances for the South American nation, two of which coming in World Cup qualifiers.
Patrick Bamford has spent the majority of the season injured at Leeds while Rodrigo and Daniel James are also currently sidelined with injuries.
Joe Gelhardt and Tyler Roberts are in contention to start up front against Arsenal on Saturday as Leeds’ need for January reinforcements grows.
In other Leeds United news, the Daily Mail has reared its ugly head again with a disgraceful story about this Whites ace.
