Leeds United set for £10m Illan Meslier transfer decision

Dan Bardell believes Leeds United would not get more than £10million if they were to sell Illan Meslier next year.

The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Stade Rennais, who are said to be preparing an offer to test the Whites’ resolve [Jeunesfooteux].

The 24-year-old could be tempted to make a move away from Elland Road but Daniel Farke sees him as a key player after starting every Championship game this season.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist has suggested Leeds will only sell if they receive a large fee, which they are unlikely to get from the Ligue 1 outfit.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Bardell said: “I don’t think there’s game-changing money for Leeds there.

I think they would be lucky if they got £10m for him, that would be my thinking.

When they’ve sold players in the past like Georginio Rutter and Archie Gray, it’s been for big money. You can see why they did that.

I just don’t see that if Meslier goes back to France, that it will be for big money.

Illan Meslier could leave Leeds United for £10m

The ex-Lorient keeper won’t be the most popular in West Yorkshire after his mistake in the draw against Preston on Saturday (14 December).

This isn’t the first and won’t be the last time that the keeper makes an error but the frustration is that they seem to be a constant part of his game.

There is every chance that if a large fee does come in for Meslier, the Whites may be tempted to cash in and bring in a more consistent option, but £10m is unlikely to be enough.
