Leeds United sent ‘warning’ as Kelechi Iheanacho twist emerges
Leeds United may be aware of the red flags before going ahead and signing Sevilla striker Kelechi Iheanacho, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert has sent a warning that there have been issues with his game time and fitness in recent seasons and that’s something the Whites must dig deeper into and sign him only if they’re certain he has overcome them.
This comes after SCORENigeria reported on 23 January that Leeds were considering signing the Nigeria international in this transfer window.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Iheanacho: “His game time over the last few seasons has been erratic, to say the least.
“The red flags ahead of a potential transfer are less associated with game time and more so looking at his physical condition and testing to see if there are any outliers that they are concerned with.
“The club would have to be absolutely certain that he’s overcome any issues with regard to his fitness.“
Leeds United must avoid signing Kelechi Iheanacho
Given the potential red flags listed above, it makes sense for the Whites to not sign the 28-year-old in the coming days.
This season he has hardly featured for Sevilla and in the nine league games he’s played, he has not even scored a single goal.

It remains to be seen if the club have any alternative striker targets they’re considering in the final days of the transfer window.
In other Leeds United, a midfielder would “pass his medical” ahead of a potential transfer with the Whites already tabling a multi-million bid for him.
