Leeds United ‘last resort’ mooted as Jack Harrison transfer update emerges
Paul Robinson has urged Leeds United to find a permanent transfer for Jack Harrison this summer, rather than sending him out on loan again.
According to the Daily Mirror [21 May, page 56], Leeds have already received an approach from Everton for the winger to return to Goodison Park on loan next season, unable to afford a permanent move this summer.
It is understood that after the Whites did not secure promotion to the Premer League via the Championship play-off final, they will be required to raise upwards of £100million in player sales. [Daily Mirror]
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “If he’s [Harrison] not going to be part of the manager’s plan next year, a permanent transfer is what they need. A loan would be the last resort.
“With PSR and FFP, clubs have to have their books open on 30 June. It’s almost like a second transfer window, with clubs trying to balance the books. We’ll see a lot of players go before then.
“If we’re getting closer to that point, and there’s an issue with Leeds’ FFP and PSR, they might look to let him go on loan last thing. If he’s not part of the manager’s plan and isn’t integrated into the squad, they need to look for a sale.
“But if you’re looking for a sale, it’s certainly not going to be at Everton because of the situation they’re in. The only deal they’re able to do is a loan.”
Will Jack Harrison be at Leeds United next season?
Considering the Toffees’ transfer stance on the talented winger, and Leeds’ failure to get out of the Championship at the first time of asking, it seems unlikely that he will be at Elland Road next season.

Of course, many of the stars could leave the club this summer after losing to Southampton in the Championship play-off final at Wembley on Sunday 26 May.
Depending on who is left out of Crysencio Summerville, Dan James and Wilfried Gnonto, the Whites may have to make a difficult decision over Harrison’s future at Elland Road.
