Leeds United have already received an approach from Everton for winger Jack Harrison to return to Goodison Park on loan next season, according to the Daily Mirror.

In their print edition (21 May, page 56), the newspaper stated that Everton want to bring Harrison back to Goodison Park in 2024/25, but cannot afford to sign him on a permanent deal.

However, the Toffees' pursuit of the 27-year-old winger, under contract at Elland Road until 2027, must wait until Leeds know which division they'll be playing in next season.

The Whites face Southampton in the Championship play-off final on 26 May, and if unsuccessful at Wembley, could be forced into sanctioning another loan deal for Harrison this summer.

Will Jack Harrison leave Leeds United this summer?

Leeds United could hold all the cards over both Harrison and Everton if they can beat Southampton to secure a return to the Premier League.

Harrison was perhaps the most surprising name to force a loan moan away from Elland Road in the summer of 2023, joining players like Brenden Aaronson and Marc Roca on the temporary departures list.

With no clause included in his Everton deal to sign the winger permanently, he'll return to Leeds, and the future of the 27-year-old largely rests on the club's divisional status, which will be determined at Wembley against Southampton.

The Championship play-off final is worth roughly £170million to the victorious club, and if that club is Leeds, they will no longer be in a position where they need to balance the books by loaning out or selling Harrison.

Daniel Farke may well see the winger as part of his plans should the Peacocks return to the top flight, and if he doesn't, the German can set an asking price for him - one which would likely leave cash-strapped Everton out of the running to take him back to Goodison Park.
