Leeds United have option to sign Charles De Ketelaere in January loan deal – Sky Sports pundit

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…

According to Paul Robinson, Leeds United could look at signing Charles De Ketelaere on loan from AC Milan in the January transfer window.

Leeds pushed hard to sign De Ketelaere, 21, from Club Brugge in the summer but the Belgium forward snubbed a move to Elland Road in favour of a move to the San Siro.

However, his time at AC Milan hasn’t gone as planned so far with the attacker struggling to start for the Stefano Pioli in Serie A.

That’s led to speculation that Leeds could be looking at signing De Ketelaere again.

CBS journalist Ben Jacobs told GiveMeSport on 4 December that the Belgian international isn’t fully settled in Italy “and that just might allow Leeds a chance either for January, or if not, perhaps instead over the summer to make their move”.

Robinson believes that because De Ketelaere has previously been on Leeds’ radar, a move to Elland Road could still be on the cards if he’s not completely happy in Milan.

“It’s an option,” said Robinson to MOT Leeds News when asked if the Whites could sign De Keteleare on loan in January.

“If they’ve had a long-term interest in him then it’s a player they know well.

He’s gone to AC Milan and can’t get games so are Leeds in the market of players that aren’t playing? Are they looking at those types of players to strengthen their team?

They missed out on him previously when he was playing and he was playing well.

“That’s obviously a player they’ve looked at and can revisit that one. I think that one would probably work.”

De Ketelaere has failed to score and supplied just one assist in 18 appearances across all competitions for AC Milan since his £27million arrival there in the summer.

He’s been on the bench for the majority of those games though as he’s yet to stamp his place in Pioli’s starting line-up.

In other Leeds United news, a Premier League legend has made a move to sign this Leeds player ahead of January.
