Leeds United have new signings lined up as ‘strange’ Glen Kamara deal is announced
Dan Bardell believes that Leeds United will have transfers lined up after Glen Kamara confirmed his transfer to Stade Rennais.
The Finland international shared a goodbye message to Whites’ fans ahead of a move to Ligue 1 to Instagram on 16 July. Not long after, the club confirmed the news.
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell has suggested that new midfield signings will be lined up to replace Kamara and Archie Gray.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Bardell said: “It’s a strange one. Leeds have also lost Archie Gray who was a central midfielder first, then right back.
“So now you look at their squad going into the new season, they’re very light.
“They must have some replacements lined up because I fail to believe that after losing Gray they’d let Kamara go without knowing who is coming in to play alongside Ethan Ampadu.“
Leeds United must replace Glen Kamara
So far in July, Daniel Farke has already parted ways with two of his main central midfield options from last campaign.
Gray left to join Tottenham in a deal which ultimately made sense for all parties no matter how much it pained Leeds fans.
A deal to lose Kamara to Rennes makes less sense given his importance last season and how light it leaves the midfield at Elland Road.

It is a positive to sell the 28-year-old for double what they paid but is a risk that Farke has to stand up to now.
