Leeds United defender Max Wober was out with hamstring issue, full return criteria shared – Injury Expert
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Leeds United...
Max Wober needs to be cleared for both left-back and centre-back roles before he can return to the starting eleven for Leeds United, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert explains that despite the injury crisis, the Whites medical staff cannot give him the green signal if Javi Gracia only manages to deploy him as a centre-back.
Central defenders do cover less ground than full-backs, but for the Austria international to return to the eleven, he needs to be cleared to play any role.
The 25-year-old returned to the bench and was an unused substitute in the 6-1 defeat against Liverpool and is expected to be in contention v Fulham as well.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said, “This sounds like a grade 1 hamstring injury so two weeks from the 25th of March is a reasonable timeline to return to match play.
“Typically, clearing a player for one position isn’t how things work as even centre-back requires high demand sprinting, especially in the Premier League so he’ll need to be cleared before he can start or play 90 minutes.”
Wober was signed in January typically to fill in at left-back but has been used more as a centre-back than a full-back under Jesse Marsch and Javi Gracia.
He has played in 10 Premier League games thus far and will be looking for game time from now until the end of the season to help his side fight relegation.
