Leeds United defender Liam Cooper faces high chances of setbacks amid lack of fitness – Injury Expert
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Leeds United...
Leeds United defender Liam Cooper appears to be part of a vicious injury cycle amid his lack of game time, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.
According to the injury expert, the fewer games he plays, the higher the chances of him facing further setbacks down the road.
This is perhaps why, in his opinion, the Scotland international has been struggling to stay fit for an extended run of games this season.

Last season, the 31-year-old was ruled out for nearly half the season with a hamstring injury and currently appears to have returned to fitness after being out with a knee concern.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, explained Cooper’s situation and said, “This sounds like a case of a vicious injury cycle where one injury leads to decreased fitness and increased injury risk.
“Eventually, it then leads to a setback or another injury and so on.”
Cooper has made 12 starts for Leeds this season but appears to have fallen down the pecking order after the signing of Max Wober.

With Junior Firpo making the left-back position his own once again, Pascal Struijk’s another player competing for a centre-back berth.
The Scotland international’s deal at Elland Road runs out in 2024 which means that the upcoming summer will be the last big window Leeds can get something from his sale, if they decide to cash in.
In other Leeds United, the Whites are now in pole position to seal their first signing under Javi Gracia despite interest from a Premier League rival.
