Leeds United conspiracy theory suggested by Sky Sports pundit amid Elland Road transfer reveal
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...
Paul Robinson has suggested that Leeds United may have been conspiring to bring Jesse Marsch and Brenden Aaronson in during January while Marcelo Bielsa was still in charge.
Leeds officially confirmed Aaronson’s arrival at Elland Road from Red Bull Salzburg on Thursday (26 May), adding yet another American to the ranks in West Yorkshire following Marsch’s appointment as manager earlier in the year.
Aaronson, 21, was strongly linked with a move to the Whites in January, which is when Leeds’ form start to drop and led to Bielsa eventually getting sacked and replaced by Marsch.

The San Fransisco 49ers are major players behind the scenes at Leeds United and Robinson has suggested that the plan all along might have been for Bielsa to go and Marsch to come in, with Aaronson being lined up in January with a view to him playing for his fellow American.
“He’s a player that Jesse Marsch obviously knows very well,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News.
“It was almost done in January. But then you question, ‘why wasn’t he signed in January when Bielsa was in charge?’.
“Again, you question was Marsch Radrizanni’s appointment?
“Not many of us had heard of him before he came to the club and there were talks of Aaronson being there in January, someone who knows Marsch.
“You then start to look between the lines and look for conspiracy theories.
“But he’s a good player and is one who Marsch clearly thinks will improve the squad.”

Aaronson is Marsch’s first signing as Leeds United’s manager.
While his move is still subject to international clearance and a work permit, there’s surely not going to be any difficult in getting the red tape lifted so he can play for the Whites next season.
In other Leeds United news, this player is set to undergo a medical “soon” with the Whites.
