Leeds United ‘concern’ verdict shared ahead of Plymouth Argyle match
Leeds United blow “hot and cold” but will earn automatic promotion to the Premier League this season, according to Ian Darke.
The TNT Sports commentator, speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, said he was underwhelmed by their blunt attacking performance at Bristol City [26 October] which angered some of the support base, but believes the squad have enough in the tank.
Daniel Farke’s Whites sit third in the table on goal difference to Burnley in second, with Sunderland leading the pack five points clear.
“I don’t think it’s a major cause for concern as much as just one of those days for Leeds United,” Darke said.
“In the Championship, it’s hard to sustain form for 46 games – especially when you’ve got three games in a week, and rotation is required.
“Leeds do tend to blow a little hot and cold when most people did consider them the outright favourites. But I’m a believer that over the 46 games, they’ve got enough quality for automatic promotion.”
Leeds United aim to return to winning note
With Sunderland’s form being what it is, Burnley still keeping Leeds company and Sheffield United and West Brom in hot pursuit, Farke’s side have their work cut out.
They take on Plymouth Argyle this Saturday [2 November] followed by a tricky trip to Millwall in midweek [6 November].

QPR visit Elland Road on 9 November in a demanding schedule before the season’s third international break.
There is no let-up for the Whites, and the simple truth is that nothing but promotion will do this season – something Daniel Farke is fully aware of.
In other Leeds news, a lucrative partnership deal continues at Elland Road as an official announcement is made.
