Leeds United ace Raphinha hailed 'world-class' by pundit after 2-1 win at Norwich City
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United.
Paul Robinson has dubbed Raphinha as “world-class” after the Brazilian winger starred for Leeds United in their 2-1 win away at Norwich on Sunday.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men climbed out of the Premier League’s bottom three with a win at Carrow Road.
Raphinha opened the scoring and went on to win Sky Sports’ man of the match award for his performance in East Anglia.
While Robinson is blown away by Raphinha’s form, he is also a bit worried about the Brazilian outgrowing Leeds.
The ex-Rennes winger has already been linked with a move away from Elland Road with TeamTalk claiming that Paris Saint-Germain are interested in Neymar’s Brazil teammate.
Robinson wants to see Leeds continue to grow with Raphinha and allow them to keep hold of him after shining at Norwich.
Speaking to MOT Leeds News, the former goalkeeper said: “Raphinha’s a top player but I just hope he doesn’t start believing his own hype and he continues the effort and work-rate during games.
“He’s become a top player because of what Bielsa has asked him to do and his work rate, as well as his quality.
“He was outstanding – head and shoulders above anyone else on that pitch at the weekend.
“You’ve always got a chance of scoring with Raphinha – he’s a world-class player.
“He got his opportunity and goals with Brazil and there’s more to come from him.
“I just hope Leeds go in the direction that he’s going in and they’re able to keep a hold of him.”
Raphinha’s goal at Norwich was the fourth of the Premier League season for the Brazil international, who also scored twice for his country in the last international break.
In other Leeds United news, a superstar player has urged his club’s hierarchy to sign this Elland Road ace next year.
