Keith Hackett reacts to Leeds United fans incident with Sergi Canos v Brentford
We’re delighted to welcome former Premier League referee Keith Hackett to the MOT Leeds News team. Each week, Hackett will discuss the big moments from the latest Leeds United games and deliver his verdict on whether his successors got their calls right or wrong…
Keith Hackett has insisted that action may well be taken against Leeds United after their 2-2 draw against Brentford.
Objects were thrown from the crowd at Sergi Canos after he scored the Bees’ second goal at Elland Road.
The Spaniard was left floored by the incident, and Hackett shared that the FA will be in contact for observations from the club.

The Mirror have reported that the incident is being investigated after being included in David Coote’s match report.
“I think the reaction will be from the FA,” he told MOT Leeds News.
“They no doubt will have seen it, and will ask or request Leeds’ observations on the incident. Objects thrown, no matter what they are, it doesn’t matter.
“It’s down to the aspect of the safety of the players. For me, it does need to be investigated – what the outcome will be, who knows? Fans have got a duty of care, to make certain they comply with the law.”
Here we go, again.
Yes, it was silly of Canos to go across to the Leeds fans and he was probably lucky to escape a second yellow card, but that is no excuse.
We’ve been here before and it looks as though yet another person is going to ruin it for the rest of the club, who will likely need a pay a hefty fine.
Hackett insists that the FA will now ask the Whites for their observations of the incident, meaning that a conclusion most likely won’t be reached until later in the week.
You only need to look at the Victor Orta incident to see that passions were running high on Sunday, thankfully, it led to Patrick Bamford smashing in that last-minute equaliser.
