Exclusive: 'Everything he did was right' – Robinson blown away by 'outstanding' Leeds ace on Sat

We’re delighted to welcome former Leeds and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds…

Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has heaped praise on Kiko Casilla after a dominating display in the 0-0 draw against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

Casilla kept the visitors out with a string of fine saves and was the highest-rated Leeds player on the pitch according to WhoScored.

Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds news, Robinson said, “I thought Casilla was outstanding on Saturday, I thought he was really good.

“Everything he did was right, he was commanding in the air, his shot-stopping was outstanding and we conceded far too many chances for my liking in that game away from home as we should have been looking to win.

“However a point against Sheffield Wednesday come the end of the season may be a valuable point, but I think Casilla was outstanding and he was man of the match for me.”

Casilla is starting to show the sort of form that fans were expecting after he signed from Real Madrid in January.

Casilla’s first season with Leeds was most memorable for the huge mistake he made to let Derby back into the play-off semi-final at Elland Road.

More performances like the one against Sheffield Wednesday will consign that mistake to history.
