49ers takeover at Leeds United still on course despite USA financial developments in Premier League – Sky Sports pundit
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson doesn’t see how sales of Manchester United and Liverpool would affect the 49ers and their bid to complete a full takeover at Leeds United.
The Glazer family and FSG are looking to sell Man United and Liverpool, leading to concerns about how American owners are starting to abandon Premier Lague clubs.
Jordan Kobritz, from the State University of New York, told the Sunday Mirror (27 November, page 77) that the current economical situation is “the worst financial conditions in a generation” amid efforts to sell from FSG and the Glazers.

The Times reported on 9 November that 49ers Enterprises, who are the investment vehicle of the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers, are making moves to complete a full takeover at Leeds in 2023.
Despite the warning from Kobritz and developments at Old Trafford and Anfield, Robinson is unconcerned by the 49ers’ bid to buy Leeds from Andrea Radrizzani, suggesting it has nothing to do with the nationality of the investors.
“There’s been a lot of American investment and there’s also been a couple wanting to sell,” Robinson told MOT Leeds News.

“I don’t think there’s anything to read into it whatsoever, in all honesty.
“If you’re talking about the amount of American money coming into the Premier League and just because two sets of Americans want to sell, who’s to say that two sets of Americans aren’t going to want to buy?”
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are aiming to get this “human wrecking ball” out of Elland Road in January.
