It’s been a tough 2020 but the single scariest moment was the first quarter of the game against Man City. Rodrigo will be the saviour this season.

Football finance expert Kieran Maguire claimed that Leeds United are in a very strong position this summer, with many European clubs in crisis after the COVID pandemic.

He claimed that Leeds, as a buying club, could pick up some real bargains with 49er's cash burning a hole in their pockets.

And he thinks that players could be picked up at 'liquidation' prices.

One of the first bargains for Leeds could be midfielder Nahitan Nandez.

Leeds have been strongly linked to the player, who can play across any of the midfield positions and on the wing.

It had been reported that a £26m offer was going in for him when the season ended with the Italian club needing to raise money [Centotrentuno]

This was followed up by a report that claimed Tommaso Giulini, the Cagliari chief, would be willing to listen to offers for a player who has a £31m release clause. [Calciomercato]

That report also said that Andrea Radrizzani and Giulini have an "excellent" relationship.

So, who is Nandez and why are Leeds fans getting so excited at the prospect of signing him?

He's not prolific in front of goal but he is a very combative player (he picked up 14 yellows cards in the 19/20 season, and eight in the campaign just gone) and has a brilliant range of passing.

He also runs a lot which marks him out as a perfect fit for this Leeds side.

BBC pundit Mina Rzouki claimed he is one of the "most underrated players" after a standout season for Cagliari.

She said, "God he's been amazing, especially in Cagliari's last 3 games".

Talking about his performance against Roma she said, "Just wow. Unstoppable."

Nandez isn't a number 10 but a box-to-box midfielder in the Mateusz Klich mould.

Klich has struggled this season and Leeds need a new midfielder.

Signing one as versatile as Nandez for a bargain price could be a very, very good bit of business.
