Marcelo Bielsa remained coy about who would replace Jack Harrison for Leeds United on Saturday but he did admit losing the winger was a big blow.
Bielsa delivered his update from Thorp Arch this morning and it’s left fans guessing about who will play at the weekend.
However, Bielsa is a creature of habit and there’s a big clue about how he will line his starting XI up.
Harrison has started all but three games this season.
The first was the reverse fixture against Man City and that was before Raphinha was in the squad.
Harrison was dropped for the other two games and was on the bench against Aston Villa and West Ham at the end of February and beginning of March.
In both of these games, Bielsa did the exact same thing, with Helder Costa coming in on the right and star man Raphinha switching flanks across to the left.
We believe he will do the same again against Man City.
The other option he has is Ian Poveda but he hasn’t started all season and has only played a total of 44 minutes this year because of injury.
A game at the Etihad against Man City doesn’t seem like the time for him to start experimenting.
He’ll be on the bench where Leeds fans will also be hoping to see Crysencio Summerville.
That would be the first time that Summerville has made the squad and we think there’s an outside chance of it happening.
We’d love to see him get a taste of the first-team but Bielsa doesn’t seem keen to blood any of his talented youngsters yet this season.
