Victor Orta could be set for shock Leeds United exit this summer amid recent interview comments
Leeds United could be preparing to lose director of football Victor Orta this summer after he admitted he plans to return to Spain soon.
Orta admitted in an interview with Spanish media (28 March) that he has “selfish” plans to return to Spain in the “medium term” future, but it’s possible that Leeds fans who want to see him leave the club sooner could get their wish.
It’s easy to forget that should the club avoid relegation from the Premier League, it is expected that the 49ers Enterprises are set to take over the club in a £500m deal.

And while that would obviously mean Andrea Radrizzani takes a walk through the exit door at Elland Road, there is every chance that it opens up an opportunity for Orta to follow him out of the door too.
It wouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone if the 49ers wanted to bring in their own people to run the club on a day-to-day basis, especially considering they’ve had great influence recently despite owning a minority stake.
They pulled the plug on Jack Harrison’s exit to Leicester in January recently, while it’s hard to argue they didn’t have some sort of say in the influx of Americans to the club with all of Jesse Marsch, Brenden Aaronson, Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie joining the club recently.
With Orta already having one foot out of the door at the club with his comments, the new owners could be preparing to replace him with someone who is their own man but also fully committed.

It would provide the perfect platform for a fresh slate and a new era for Leeds, but also allow Orta to go and do what he pleases without the fans getting on to him so much.
He’s far from popular at Elland Road with the fans anyway, so this would seemingly just be an easy way out for everyone.
It will be an interesting summer at Leeds regardless of what happens, but with the takeover inevitable it could be the perfect opportunity to wave goodbye to Orta too.
