Sam Byram sums up Leeds United in disappointing 0-0 draw v Bristol City

Leeds United fans were left in frustration following the 0-0 draw at Bristol City on 26 October, with Sam Byram standing out for Daniel Farke.

Byram came in at left-back to replace the suspended Junior Firpo, with Jayden Bogle retaining his berth at right-back.

The former Norwich City man did his best to try and whip up attacks for the visitors, but they failed to capitalise in a wasteful all-round display at Ashton Gate.

Sam Byram impresses for Leeds United as some teammates flop

Having been introduced nine times as a substitute in the Championship this season, Byram enjoyed his first start and did his selection justice, having won his duels and pushing forward every time.

Slightly unnatural on the left-hand side, he looks likely to get his chance on the right against Plymouth with Bogle now picking up his fifth yellow card on the day.

There were Leeds players who certainly had a day to forget – Joel Piroe made next to no contribution leading the attack, with his replacement Mateo Joseph nearly instantly set up by Byram off the bench.

Brenden Aaronson was largely a passenger at Ashton Gate, Wilfried Gnonto faded after the break following a promising first half, and Manor Solomon was ineffective after coming on.

The defence looked organised, but in truth were rarely tested – and Byram at least looked to offer something going forward, even if it wasn’t always perfect.

Despite limited minutes this season, he showed up those around him.
