Rodrigo De Paul will have Leeds United fans raving after stunning clip emerges
Leeds United would be playing an absolute blinder if they manage to sign Rodrigo De Paul from Udinese in the summer.
De Paul, 26, has been linked with the Whites since last year when he took to Twitter to say that he would be interested in a move to West Yorkshire to play for Marcelo Bielsa.
The Athletic journalist Phil Hay has recently reported that De Paul is likely to be leaving Udinese this year while Il Milanista has added that the Whites, along with Liverpool, are leading the race for the Argentina midfielder.
It’s really hard not to get excited about speculation linking De Paul with a move to Leeds United because this season, he’s been one of the leading midfielders in Europe.
Stats by Wyscout show that De Paul ranks joint-sixth in Europe’s top-five leagues for key passes and also joint-sixth for one-v-one dribbles .
The Udinese star also ranks second for expected assists [13.04], showing that he’s one of the best playmakers on the continent.
Unfortunately for De Paul, he’s been held back a bit at Udinese with the Serie A club hardly one of the better teams in Italy.
As it stands, Udinese are 12th in Serie A with one match left to play and they could drop down to 15th.
There’s no way a player like De Paul should be playing at a level like that and a clip that’s gone viral on Twitter has proven that.
One Twitter user shared a stunning piece of skill by De Paul in Udinese’s recent 5-1 defeat away at Napoli in Serie A.
In the 62nd minute, De Paul picked up the ball just outside of his own box, glided past one Napoli player, pirouetted past another and drove into the home side’s half before finding a teammate out wide.

There’s no way Leeds fans can’t be in meltdown over the idea of signing a player this talented – just imagine him driving the ball forward and up the pitch.
De Paul could prove to be the link between the midfield and attack, helping Leeds’ defenders play the ball forward in the knowledge they’ll be bringing someone as talented as him into play.
From there, De Paul can create chances for fun, beating opponents with his dribbling or cutting open defences with his inch-perfect passes.
If we sign one new player this summer, please be De Paul. We’d be happy to see the entire transfer budget go on a player this good.
