Patrick Bamford ‘set for brutal Leeds axe’ after Daniel Farke claim
Patrick Bamford is one of two players who could be axed by Daniel Farke at Leeds United this summer.
Leeds United’s only focus will be on achieving promotion currently ahead of the final eight games of the season, though they will have one eye on the summer transfer window and the decisions that will need to be made within it.
Recruitment will be key for Leeds regardless of whether or not they achieve promotion, with decisions on current players arguably just as important.
If they do achieve a return to the Premier League, Farke will need to plan meticulously to ensure that his squad is up to standard in the top flight.

Farke will have tough decisions to make at Leeds
Patrick Bamford has had an extremely troubled time at Leeds this season, and it’s unlikely to get any easier for the striker heading into the summer window.
Leeds were unsuccessful in their attempt to offload the 32-year-old in the winter, though they simply have to find a way to seal his exit in the summer.
Paul Robinson previously stated that Farke would have to make some “brutal” decisions when it comes to deciding who stays and who goes, and given the injury troubles Bamford has had, he will inevitably be one that the German is keen to get rid of.
Leeds United | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Patrick Bamford | 10 | 0 | 0 |
Despite a fairly respectable goal-scoring record in the Premier League, Leeds will simply not be able to rely on him whatsoever if they are to be successful in their attempts to secure promotion this season.
Bamford is unlikely to be the only one to fall victim to that scenario, with Illan Meslier just as likely to find himself somewhat out of favour at Elland Road given the frailties he has showcased at Leeds this campaign.

Farke needs to put player decisions on the back burner
Until Leeds have secured promotion, quite literally nothing matters on the recruitment front in regard to incoming or outgoings.
With eight games to be played, the only focus must be on the pitch and ensuring that the whites return to the form that brought them plenty of success earlier in the season.
Only then should the consideration be made.
