Nahitan Nandez ready for January move, Leeds must take advantage
Leeds United were strongly linked with a move for Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez throughout the summer.
The Whites and Victor Orta failed to bring in a midfielder, and that has been scrutinised strongly this month.
Marcelo Bielsa’s men have struggled in the Premier League, and the lack of options ahead of Kalvin Phillips has been a big issue.
Could that change in January?
Calciomercato has now reported that Nandez is eyeing a winter window exit, with Leeds and Inter Milan mooted.
Should this misfortune continue in the Premier League, it would be unforgivable for us not to strengthen in the upcoming window.
Nandez would add serious competition in midfield and international experience to one of our weakest areas.
The same outlet has reported recently that the Italians would now accept a loan-to-buy offer if possible, and that could be perfect.
Andrea Radrizzani clearly doesn’t have bucketloads of cash, but he has enough to complete deals every single summer.
The last significant January deal saw Jean-Kevin Augustin arrive, and that saga is still ongoing and something which could warn the Whites away from any deal.
Nandez arriving on loan would be perfect, he would offer us much-needed depth and then the chance to make it permanent next summer.
Doing this would leave Orta with the chance to strengthen elsewhere after this season should we survive as expected, with the final third and in defence areas of concern.
This is something we simply have to take advantage of, or we would have thrown away a real chance of progressing this season.
