MOT View: Leeds predicted starting XI v Crewe
Leeds United get their Carabao Cup campaign underway this evening as they welcome Crewe to Elland Road.
Marcelo Bielsa will have decisions to make with numerous under-23 players pushing for first-team recognition.
The Whites crashed out of the competition at this stage last season after making numerous changes, losing on penalties against Hull.
Illan Meslier will continue in goal, in one of only three players to keep their spots in the side from the 2-2 draw against Everton.
Junior Firpo and Luke Ayling will be the other two, with the latter captaining the side and our summer signing needing more minutes in this new system.
Charlie Cresswell was hauled off at half-time for the under-23s yesterday, and he will partner Diego Llorente, who has been pictured back in training.
The moment we have all been waiting for in recent years is Adam Forshaw returning, and he will start in that holding midfield role for the first time in over two years.
Ahead of him will be Tyler Roberts and Jamie Shackleton, who have both only been given minutes off the bench in the Premier League so far.
That will hand valuable rests to the likes of Mateusz Klich and Stuart Dallas.
The front three will be full of changes, with Rodrigo coming back into the number nine role with Helder Costa on one side and Crysencio Summerville making his full debut on the other.
Here’s how we expect the Whites to line up tonight…
