Leeds United starlet Sam Chambers scores worldie, Jesse Marsch should take notice

The Leeds United academy has no end of fabulous youngsters trying to make a name for themselves and another may have entered the equation.

15-year-old Sam Chambers is yet to feature for the Whites’ Under-18s side this season but he has begun to strut his stuff while representing his country Scotland in the Under-16 age category.

As shared by LUFC Youth on Twitter, Chambers made the difference for the Scottish Under-16s against Denmark in what was his first start at that age by scoring the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win.

And what a goal it was as he picked up the ball roughly 30 yards from goal before unleashing an unstoppable strike into the top corner before he was mobbed by his teammates immediately after.

At 15 years of age, it might be a touch too soon for Jesse Marsch to be considering Chambers for a spot in training with the first team but it might not be as far away as you might think.

Archie Gray was already an Under-23s regular at 15 and has since gone on to be involved in the senior squad’s pre-season tour and bench at 16 so if Chambers can produce similar performances then he could feasibly get his call.

But Gray is a special talent compared to the norm and it would be unfair to compare anyone to him at such an early stage in their career.

Looking at the entire academy at Thorp Arch, though, there is a lot of reason for optimism and Jesse Marsch should have no problems with choosing which talents to bring into the senior team every now and then.

It almost makes transfer less important because the manager knows that if he needs someone in a particular position, there is a talented youngster who is ready to stand up and be counted.

In other Leeds United news, another highly-rated teenager could be Elland Road-bound after announcing his exit from Celtic on Instagram.
