Leeds United will be expected to claim all three points against Cardiff City after a new injury update emerged ahead of their clash on Saturday (21 September).

The Whites' clash against Burnley was already labelled a must-win by some, with both sides aiming for promotion to the Premier League, but Daniel Farke's side were unable to make the breakthrough.

Luca Koleosho grabbed the only goal of the game at Elland Road, which has seen Daniel Farke being put under "huge" pressure, with Leeds currently sitting in ninth with eight points after five matches.

With Cardiff up next, a side sitting bottom of the Championship with just a single point and 11 goals conceded, Leeds will have been expected to secure a comfortable win anyway.

However, with midfield star Aaron Ramsey now facing two months on the sidelines due to a new hamstring injury [BBC Sport], anything other than a victory would be disastrous for the Yorkshire side.

Aaron Ramsey ruled out with new injury ahead of Leeds United v Cardiff City

Leeds versus Cardiff has turned into somewhat of a strange rivalry in recent seasons, with many goals scored and the Welsh side becoming a sticking point.

Farke's side must claim all three points at the Cardiff City Stadium, not just to keep Leeds in contention for automatic promotion, but especially for the German to keep his job at Elland Road.

Considering the meetings between the two sides in recent years, Leeds could have been in for an almighty shock this weekend, but Ramsey being unavailable for the home side is a huge boost.

The 33-year-old, who has suffered his fair share of injury setbacks, has started four of Cardiff's five league games so far, so it will be a crushing blow for the Bluebirds ahead of the clash.

Farke and Leeds now have no excuse if they fail to claim the win.
