Leeds United forward Crysencio Summerville on Chelsea radar after transfer setback
Crysencio Summerville could be subject to an approach from Chelsea if the Leeds United winger is next on their list of transfer targets.
Previously on 3 June, Ben Jacobs reported on Simon Phillips’ Substack that Summerville was seen as a next-best alternative to Michael Olise, and after he instead chose to join Bayern Munich, Chelsea could turn their attention to Elland Road in the coming weeks.
Chelsea are long-time admirers of Summerville, and having proposed a £60million bid to bring Olise to Stamford Bridge, it’s clear that they could afford the £30-35million price tag set by Daniel Farke’s side.
Brighton are reportedly the front-runners to sign the in-demand Whites winger after making contact with the club last week, but that’s unlikely to prevent Chelsea from joining the race [Alex Crook, 18 June].
Crysencio Summerville set to dominate Leeds United’s summer
Chelsea have long been a contender amongst the clubs linked with signing Summerville this summer, and Olise’s move to Bayern could be the first domino to fall in a series of big-money transfers [LeedsLive, 17 June].
Crystal Palace, Olise’s current club, are another side reported to be keen on the Dutchman, thus losing their number seven could see them step up their own efforts to bring Summerville to south London.

Their rivals Brighton may be the only side to make a formal approach thus far, but with the window only having just opened, expect a bidding war to ensue with Liverpool and Newcastle United also in the mix.
That prospect is a good one for Leeds, particularly with the club needing to stay within profit and sustainability guidelines, but could also prove a hindrance in their own transfer strategy [Kieran Maguire, 27 May].
Bringing in a roughly £40million fee for their star winger would give the Whites plenty of breathing room, but the longer the saga progresses, the more uncertainty will grow at Elland Road surrounding the eventual replacement who will take Summerville’s spot on the left flank [Fabrizio Romano, 29 May].
In other Leeds United news, Graham Smyth has evaluated the Whites’ chances of signing Joe Rodon from Tottenham.
