Leeds United embroiled in bizarre Jaidon Anthony saga as transfer set to go through
Leeds United supporters will be counting themselves lucky as Jaidon Anthony prepares to join Burnley on a season-long loan from AFC Bournemouth.
The 24-year-old spent last term at Elland Road on loan and managed only one goal in 31 Championship appearances.
Daniel Farke has accelerated his transfer plans in the remaining days of the summer transfer window, and the Daily Mail [27 August, pg49] reported in their newspaper that a return for Anthony could be on the cards for the Whites.
However, The Mirror reported on Tuesday (27 August) that Burnley are now set to wrap up a deal for Farke target Anthony ahead of Leeds.
Leeds United get a lucky escape with Jaidon Anthony transfer
With only three days remaining until the 30 August deadline, now is the time for clubs to go into overdrive to conclude their transfer business with the clock ticking down.
Too many times have supporters witnessed their side sign a player either unsuitable for their club or way too expensive in the days leading up to deadline day and Leeds fans started to become anxious.
As a move for Manor Solomon stalled [Shay Lugassi], reports emerged linking Anthony with a return to Elland Road for a second consecutive loan spell.
Last season was a disaster where Anthony is concerned. While it was a loan move and relatively low risk, Leeds still had expectations that the winger would have some impact at Elland Road but found themselves utterly disappointed with his performances.

Anthony had more than his fair share of minutes under Farke last season. All parties can admit that the move didn’t pan out but returning for round two would have been a monumental error on the Whites’ behalf.
Now, with Willy Gnonto, Daniel James, Brenden Aaronson and new signing Largie Ramazani [Sky Sports] , plus likely recruit Manor Solomon, there is no room for passengers for a side with the minimum expectation of automatic promotion this season.
