Daniel Farke gets it all wrong after what he just said about Jayden Bogle at Leeds
Jayden Bogle could come back to bite Leeds United at a crucial time, despite his spectacular season so far.
Bogle has proven to be an absolute bargain for Leeds since his £5million move from Sheffield United, chipping in with four goals and two assists to aid their rise to the top of the Championship table.
Providing a constant attacking threat alongside fellow full-back Junior Firpo in Daniel Farke’s system, Bogle has helped Leeds fans to get over the sale of Archie Gray last summer.
The 24-year-old’s performances have even seen Bogle’s name reared as a potential call-up for England, but his bombing runs forward at Elland Road have sometimes come at a cost at the other end.

Daniel Farke refusing to rest Jayden Bogle for Leeds v Millwall
Bogle’s attacking qualities in the current Leeds side are beyond doubt, but defensively, the right-back has at times been left exposed, to the extent that he’s already picked up nine yellow cards this season.
Player | Appearances | Starts | Goals | Assists | Yellow Cards | Red Cards |
Jayden Bogle | 35 | 34 | 4 | 2 | 9 | 0 |
Though Bogle is now just one booking away from a two-match suspension ahead of Leeds’ 37th match of the season against Millwall on 12 March, Farke was steadfast that dropping him is not an option.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference at Thorp Arch (10 March), Farke said: “No, [not] because of the suspension risk.
“We have not done the same with Joe Rodon, and he came through – so if we would save him right now, then he has already missed one game, and we can also live with the suspension.
“Of course, this would then mean two games [missed] anyhow, but I have also hope that he comes through without a yellow card.
“I accept that he misses one game, I think it would make no sense [to rest him], he’s a very important player.”

Farke set to regret Jayden Bogle decision at Leeds United
With just 10 games of the Championship season remaining, and Millwall being Leeds’ last before the yellow card cut-off point, Farke can surely afford to bring Bogle out of the firing line for this one.
Leeds‘ run-in pits them against several mid-table sides with not much left to play for this term, but facing Millwall is never a simple test for the Whites and a fiesty encounter is all-but guaranteed.
As a result, so too are yellow cards, and with Sam Byram an able deputy at right-back against a side Leeds will be expected to dominate, and beat, at Elland Road, resting Bogle should be a no-brainer.
Having Bogle available for the run-in could be key as the Peacocks look to get over the line in the Premier League race, and after a lack of rotation cost Farke last season, he can’t afford to make the same mistake twice.
Let’s hope that it doesn’t backfire.
