Brenden Aaronson makes debut, Struijk starts at LB - Leeds United predicted XI v Wolves

Leeds are back in Premier League action this weekend when they take on Wolves at Elland Road, and Jesse Marsch has some decisions to make.

The Whites have been very busy in the summer transfer window bringing in six players, while they waved goodbye to key men Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha in the process.

Now Marsch has assembled his squad for the season for the most part, he must decide his best lineup for the Wolves game to ensure he gets off to the best possible start in the new campaign.

In goal Illan Meslier will retain his place between the sticks as the number one, with youngster Kristoffer Klaesson set to serve as his understudy following Kiko Casilla’s release from the club.

In defence the side are dealing with some injuries which limits Marsch’s ability to go full strength. Liam Cooper, Junior Firpo, Stuart Dallas and Luke Ayling are all unlikely to be available through injury.

New signing Rasmus Kristensen should start at right-back after an impressive pre-season, while Robin Koch seems to have established himself as first-choice centre-back alongside Diego Llorente for now.

Left back is an issue though, and the final pre-season game saw Pascal Struijk get the nod in that position over youngster Cody Drameh so it’s safe to say he will continue there in the league for now.

In midfield it’s all fresh as both Marc Roca and Tyler Adams should make their debuts in the double pivot, where the boss will opt for passing, control, strong tackling and energy in a combination. Adam Forshaw is expected to miss out through injury.

Ahead of them it’s a familiar look. Jack Harrison has been subject to interest from Newcastle but looks likely to stay and should start in his preferred left-wing role, while new signing Brendan Aaronson will slot in to replace Raphinha on the right.

Summer signing Luis Sinisterra is out with a hamstring injury, which opens up a spot for Rodrigo to come into the side and play just behind a fit-again Patrick Bamford.

Predicted Leeds XI: Meslier; Kristensen, Koch, Llorente, Struijk; Roca, Adams; Aaronson, Rodrigo, Harrison; Bamford.
