Leeds United starlet Ryan Edmondson has will join Aberdeen on loan for the 2020/21 campaign.
The Whites made the announcement via their official Twitter on Friday, and it’s fair to say that most supporters were firmly in favour of the move.
The 19-year-old was limited to just two Championship appearances this season, totalling a paltry 35 minutes.
With Marcelo Bielsa consistently trusting Patrick Bamford, and with the likes of Tyler Roberts and potentially even Jean-Kevin Augustin ahead of him in the pecking order, chances were always going to be limited for the youngster.
At least this way, he should get regular senior minutes under his belt at a decent level.
And that seems to be the viewpoint of most supporters too, although there were a couple who are somewhat baffled by the decision to let him move north of the border.
The general consensus, however, is that this deal means that he does still have some kind of future at Leeds.
The fact that Bielsa is willing to send him out on a temporary basis, rather than cutting his losses on him entirely would seemingly suggest that he is hoping that the player can continue his development before returning to Elland Road.
That belief is seemingly backed up by Graham Smyth’s report that the Whites are looking at handing the starlet a new contract too.
Here’s hoping that he does enough for the Dons to justify that decision.
