Sheffield Wednesday take Keenan Carole on trial in Leeds United transfer update

Sheffield Wednesday have taken Leeds United teenager Keenan Carole on trial, according to The Star.

The report on 8 May shares that Carole’s contract with Leeds runs out at the end of the season, with the 19-year-old exploring his options ahead of the summer transfer window.

The teenage winger played 70 minutes as Sheffield Wednesday Under-21s claimed a 2-1 victory over Ipswich Town Under-21s. No decision appears to have been made following the game.

Leeds United look set to let Keenan Carole go

Carole – son of Sebastien, who spent two years at Leeds between 2006 and 2008 – looks set to move on this summer as his contract is due to expire at the end of June.

The left-footed right winger has one assist in nine Premier League 2 appearances totalling 365 minutes for the Whites this term and does not appear to have done enough to convince Leeds to offer him fresh terms.

He was unable to get on the scoresheet for Sheffield Wednesday but will hope to impress enough to earn a contract with the Owls, who narrowly avoided relegation from the Championship this season.

At 19, Carole will be keen to cement his future with a club and begin amassing valuable first-team experience in an effort to establish himself as a senior professional.

The Whites will surely wish him well either way, even if his future lies away from Elland Road.

In other Leeds news, the 49ers were “really big” on one former Premier League manager before hiring Daniel Farke.
