‘Oozed class’, ‘Level above’ – Some Leeds fans thrilled with U23s ace in draw v Wolves

Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to rave about Mateusz Bogusz for his latest performance for the Under-23s side.

The 18-year-old played the opening 30 minutes of the Under-23s’ 2-2 draw against Wolves at the Premier League side’s training ground on Friday but still managed to impress a lot of supporters who had watched the match.

Bogusz played a key role in the opening goal for Leeds as he played in Ryan Edmondson with a nice pass before the ball ended up falling to goalscorer Stuart McKinstry.

Carlos Corberan has some very talented young players in his squad at the moment and with Marcelo Bielsa seeing a number of his first-team stars suffering from injuries and suspension, there is a case for some of the youngsters to be called up to the senior side.

There is certainly a good case for Bogusz.

Not only is he playing well in the Under-23s, Kalvin Phillips’ three-match ban means that there is an opening at central midfield in Bielsa’s side.

Is Bogusz someone who can make the step up?

He impressed in the first-team in pre-season and was handed his Leeds debut by Bielsa earlier this season in the Carabao Cup.

The Poland Under-21 international has also been on the bench a few times in the Championship so with him being substituted off early against Wolves’ Under-23s on Friday,  there may well be a spot for him in the squad on Tuesday night against Millwall.

That is what a lot of fans might be hoping anyway after they hailed Bogusz for his display at Wolves.
