Liam Balmer basically confirms Leeds United move with what he has done on social media
Leeds United’s youth revolution seems to have continued with Liverpool youngster Liam Balmer.
Daniel Farke‘s side have made several moves to bolster their academy ranks in recent months, with the 49ers Enterprises seemingly focusing on securing the best talents.
Leeds have added Kai Morell from Liverpool, Edward Ibrovic-Fletcher and Alfie Walker from Manchester United and Jayden Lienou from Manchester City.
Now, it looks like Balmer will be the latest to rock up after Thorp Arch after his social media activity on 20 February.

How has Balmer essentially confirmed Leeds move?
Balmer has basically confirmed that he will join the Elland Road side, with his latest actions on his Instagram account.
He took to the platform on 20 February to confirm that he has left the Anfield club, saying: “After nine years at this club, I will be leaving at the end of the season.
“Thank you to everyone at the club who has worked with me to this point, I’ve made friends that I will have for life and experiences that will live with me forever.
“It’s time for me to move on to another chapter and leave this one behind, thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout my journey, YNWA.”

The 16-year-old then reposted The Talent Hunter’s story that he will join the Whites at the end of the season to his own story.

Who is Liam Balmer?
Balmer was a part of the Reds’ academy since the under-nine level and has taken significant strides in recent years.
He is primarily a right-back, but can also play on the left side of defence, and made his first England Under-17’s appearance in a 2-1 win over Venezuela in September 2025.
He was regarded in high esteem by coaches on Merseyside, especially for his athleticism, how comfortable he is on the ball and his position awareness.
A technically gifted and tenacious player, that attitude should serve him well as he tries to break into Farke’s squad in the long-run.
He has a long way to go at the moment, but he will back himself to succeed and make waves in the Under-18s when he makes the switch to the Yorkshire side.
The fact that Leeds have managed to poach the Reds youngster and the other aforemetioned players is a big indication that they are an attractive destination for academy players.
Now, the next challenge for Farke and the ownership is to make sure that there is a pathway for these young players to make their way into the first-team fold, and make an impact at the top level.
