Leeds United: Marley Wilson injury update emerges as Under-18s suffer big blow

Leeds United youngster Marley Wilson will be “sidelined for a number of months”, according to LUFC Youth.

The club’s unofficial academy-focused Twitter page shared the update on Tuesday (12 March).

Wilson injured his back and, while an official timeframe for his return has yet to be given, the up-and-coming talent is facing multiple months out.

Marley Wilson injury a blow for Leeds United Under-18s

Wilson has been a regular for the age-grade side this season, having played eight times in the U18 Premier League and four times in the FA Youth Cup.

The 18-year-old’s quality has been clear to see, too, as he has scored 10 times across those 12 combined outings.

Indeed, as per Transfermarkt, Wilson nets at a rate of one goal every 84 minutes in the league, which is quite the return.

A lot is expected of the English attacker in the years to come, hopefully as a regular for Leeds’ senior side, but for now he needs to focus on recovering from this back injury.

Suffering setbacks like this is all in the life of a footballer, but fingers crossed Wilson can hit the ground running once he regains full fitness.
