Leeds United inflict deja vu on Chelsea after what’s just happened in Under-21 clash

Chelsea have not had a great season against Leeds United, and not just at senior level.

Two of Daniel Farke’s most impressive results this season have both come against Chelsea, albeit for different reasons.

The Whites secured an emphatic 3-1 victory against the Blues back in December, with Jaka Bijo, Ao Tanaka and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Leeds went 2-0 down in the reverse fixture last time out, but secured a remarkable second-half comeback to take a point from the game, with Chelsea fans forced to drawl into their hole as a result.

And after what has just happened between the two sides at youth level, frustrations will be even higher at Stamford Bridge.

Leeds Under-21s take a point against Chelsea in familiar fashion

Scott Gardner‘s Under-21 side are having a mixed campaign to say the least, with 15 points from their 14 Premier League 2 fixtures so far.

They’re also winless in their last five, having suffered four defeats in a row before they made the trip to face Chelsea on Friday afternoon.

Goals from Leo Cardoso and Shumaira Mhueka saw the Blues take a 2-0 lead, only for Leeds to score twice in the second half to take a point from the game.

Freddie Lane and Rhys Chadwick were on the score sheet for the Whites, with the latter now having scored three so far this season.

As for Chelsea, to go 2-0 up against Leeds only to be forced to settle for a point will provide a bitter taste in their mouth.

Rhys Chadwick shows why he could be upcoming Leeds star

As a player who typically adopts an attacking position, three goals are not the best return, but Chadwick‘s stats throughout the season showcase the quality he has.

The teenager has completed 83.6 per cent of his passes, and with 18 chances created, he is among the top eight per cent of players in the Premier League 2.

His defensive stats are just as impressive, with 1.09 interceptions and 0.84 clearances per game, showcasing his willingness to contribute at both ends of the pitch.

The Whites have several promising stars, and after another important goal, Chadwick is certainly one of them who could make the step up in due course.
