Leeds United beaming after what Sonny Perkins did for Leyton Orient
Sonny Perkins is unlikely to play for Leeds United again, but gave a reason for them to smile after what he did for Leyton Orient on Saturday.
The 20-year-old is spending the final year of his contract with the Whites out on loan with the League One club, where he slowly finding his form.
Despite being impressed by the attacker recently, Richie Wellens restricted him to a substitute appearance in The Os’ 4-0 win against Barnsley on 21 December.
After coming on as a substitute in added time, Perkins spent just about three minutes on the pitch.
However, he managed to give everyone, including his parent club, a reason to be happy about in that period of time.

Perkins notably managed to get his name on the scoresheet despite only coming off the bench late in the game.
In fact, only a few seconds had passed after his substitution when he found the back of the net. He scored with what was his second and last touch of the game, with his first also coming in the lead-up to the goal.
It is always frustrating for players to start a game on the bench. It is even more so if you only get to spend a few minutes on the pitch, that too when the match is all but sealed.
Nevertheless, Perkins appeared a happy man after he scored what was a scrappy goal at the end of the game.
The left-footer will be hoping that cameo will be enough for him to stake a claim in Wellens’ starting XI when Leyton host Crawley Town in the league on Thursday, 26 December.
