Aaron Lennon appointment is huge boost for Leeds United after Thorp Arch latest
The future is bright for Leeds United.
Not only has the West Yorkshire club returned to the Premier League and made some top-class summer signings, but their youth teams are thriving as well.
Several youth academy stars have made a successful jump to the first team in recent years. Harry Gray is seemingly next in line to be promoted permanently, but a host of his young Leeds teammates are also hoping to knock on the door soon.
It’s a good youth set-up to be involved with right now, and that’s likely to remain the case following the latest announcement from Elland Road surrounding Aaron Lennon.

Aaron Lennon returns to Leeds to help coach the under-18 team
Lennon is perhaps one of the most famous examples of a youngster who came through Leeds’ youth academy and achieved great things as a professional.
Lennon became the youngest player to ever play in the Premier League when he made his Leeds debut in August 2003, aged 16 years and 129 days.
He made 43 appearances for Leeds in two years, before going on to play for the likes of Tottenham, Everton and Burnley. Lennon earned 21 England caps and played at the 2006 and 2010 World Cups.
Lennon’s record as the youngest Premier League player has since been eclipsed, but his legacy remains at Leeds.
It was announced on Monday that he will return to Elland Road to help coach the under-18 team.
Leeds youngsters will be inspired by Aaron Lennon’s success story
Lennon was born in Leeds, remains popular among the club’s fanbase, and the under-18 players will likely be inspired by his success story.
Leeds currently don’t have a local player in their first-team squad. Lennon would love to do his bit to help change that by helping some academy stars promote into men’s football.

It’s not an easy path for any teenager to take, but it can certainly help if you’ve been coached by someone who trod the exact path you’re trying to take.
Lennon was blessed with lightning pace, but he also worked hard to adapt his game and improve his weaknesses on his journey to becoming a Premier League player.
He’s a great candidate to help Leeds’ youngsters do the same.
