Farke will take notice of Thomas after what he’s done away from Leeds United

Daniel Farke’s decision to send Leeds United academy gem Luca Thomas out on loan has been proven right after the attacker scored yet another goal for York City.

Thomas was sent out on loan to the National League side after having a solid season for Leeds’ youth teams.

It was evident that the striker was far too good to be left in the Whites’ youth ranks all season, which is why Farke sanctioned the non-permanent exit of the youngster.

His time with fellow Yorkshire club York has gone swimmingly so far after he managed to bag a goal on his debut and has once again added to his tally in their most recent clash against Maidenhead.

These performances resulted in the youngster having his loan extended until at least January, which shows how important his addition to Mark Hinshelwood’s team has been.

Leeds United have a stellar talent on their hands with Luca Thomas

Thomas’ natural position is that of number nine and even though Leeds have the likes of Mateo Joseph, Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt within their ranks who can play in that role, it feels like Thomas’ ceiling could be higher than all three of those.

While he hasn’t yet made his senior team debut for the West Yorkshire outfit, upon his return in January, if his stay isn’t extended once again, he could be in with an outside shout of getting a look in from Farke.

If his stay isn’t extended at York, he could also be asked to continue plying his trade for a senior team week in and week out to further develop his skillset.

Only time will tell what the future holds for Leeds and Thomas, but if his trajectory keeps going in this upward spiral, it’s hard to see how he won’t make it at Elland Road.
