Calum Logan heads to QPR after failed Leeds trial
Calum Logan looks set to move elsewhere, despite being handed a trail at Leeds United earlier this year.
In March, Logan joined Leeds on trial from Tottenham, and looked set to be the latest in a series of transfer moves between the clubs.
The young defender has featured for England’s Under-17s, and was a regular for Spurs in the U18 Premier League.
Archie Gray signed for Tottenham in July 2024, joining the London club in a deal worth around £30million.
And in the same summer, Leeds signed Joe Rodon from Tottenham, in a separate deal reportedly worth around £10million.

Calum Logan on trial at QPR
According to Transfermarkt, Logan would make just one appearance for Leeds’ U21 side, featuring against Manchester United in the Premier League 2.
The defender then returned to Tottenham, although it is unclear why. It would appear that the Whites decided against offering the 18-year-old a deal, but it is possible that an agreement on contract terms could not be found.
Nevertheless, Logan has now moved on, and, as reported by the Lilywhite Rose on Monday, is on trial at Championship club QPR.
The defender was listed under ‘trialist’ in the London club’s side to take on Bournemouth in the Premier League Professional Development League.
The Premier League club had started returning striker Enes Unal, 28, but were beaten 4-1 on the night by a strong QPR side, which included Morocco international Ilias Chair.
Leeds continue youth drive
There is a rising pressure on Premier League clubs to fill their ranks with the talents of tomorrow.
Young players are making their way through to the first team at a rate not seen in the years before, and at a younger age than ever before.
Leeds United | Age on debut |
Tom Elliott | 16 years, 2 months, 25 days |
Aaron Lennon | 16 years, 4 months, 7 days |
Harry Gray | 16 years, 6 months, 13 days |
James Milner | 16 years, 10 months, 6 days |
Neil Aspin | 16 years, 10 months, 8 days |
The rise of Max Dowman perhaps presents the best example, with the winger, just 15 years old, making his Premier League debut for Arsenal against Leeds earlier this season.
Much of the pressure comes in a financial sense too, with the sale of young developed players offering the best solution to the tightening restrictions of the profit and sustainability rules.
Leeds will be among the many clubs eager to get ahead of the game in that sense, by recruiting the talents that could, one day, become profitable assets.
